J. Charles Swaby’s Black River Safari is an eco-tourism attraction which began operation in November of 1987. The attraction strives to educate its visitors about the various forms of marine life and importance of the Black River Morass while providing the thrill of a lifetime.
There is also an ongoing Crocodile Nursery program that aids with the rescue and rehabilitation of crocs of all sizes. The nursery is on view to all guests who visit the safari.
A thrilling yet relaxing 4-mile cruise up the Black River during which your boat captain gives a running commentary of what you’re seeing and a brief history of the area. Upon return to the dock you then get to visit The Nursery where you can interact with the Crocodile up close.
